Sib Icon Extractor extracts icons from various files that contain them and it does the job very well. Comprehensively searching through all of your computer or just through specific folders or files, it finds all the icons available and then presents you with a graphical list of found items. Clicking on one of them shows you a sub-list with all the versions of that icon (all sizes and color depths).
The unregistered trial version of this software is fully functional but aggressively ad-supported. It can actually be confusing when you first open the application because a window appears presenting you a list of icons that you can buy. However, that is just the advertisement and you cannot see the utility’s window anywhere until you close the ads.
This software has all the tools you need to extract icons and it can even do more. For example, it includes an extra feature for customizing all of Windows’ system icons, easily from one place. In addition, some visual effects can be applied on them.
Extracted icons can be saved as ICC, ICL collections or individual .ICO files.
Overall, this is a powerful and complete tool. The ads can be frustrating but at least all the program's functionalities are unlocked.
